Overview
The IR-2 / CR-2 visa is for an unmarried child under the age of 21 of a U.S. citizen. This route allows the child to immigrate permanently to the United States. The petition is filed using Form I-130 by the U.S. citizen parent.
- IR-2 applies when permanent residence is granted without conditions.
- CR-2 applies when conditional residence is issued (route-dependent).
