Parent Visas (Contributory & Non-Contributory)

Overview

Australia offers Parent visa options for parents of settled Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens. Parent visa applications are limited each migration year and are generally managed through a queue system.

Two main types

  • Contributory Parent visas: generally involve higher visa charges, with different temporary/permanent pathways depending on the category.
  • Non-Contributory Parent visas: permanent parent pathways such as Parent (Subclass 103).

What your application should show

A strong parent application typically demonstrates:

  • Sponsor eligibility (settled status in Australia)
  • Clear parent–child relationship evidence
  • Accurate identity, health, and character documentation (as required)

Typical supporting documents (examples)

  • Passports and identity documents
  • Birth certificates/family records proving relationship
  • Sponsor status and “settled” evidence
  • Health/character documents if requested

How we support you

We help choose the right parent pathway, organise relationship evidence, and prepare a clean file that supports queue assessment requirements.
